External Letters of Assessement
Statements of Evaluation by Review Committees and Administrators

  • The Teaching, Research and Service sections are factual sections and do not include narratives.
  • Pages in the "Rainbow Sections" are to be typed using a 12 pt font, 1 inch margins, single spaced with double spacing between paragraphs and printed single sided.
  • Each and every page within the "Rainbow" sections must be numbered, including letters of acceptance and teaching evaluations. They are paginated with a letter-number sequence in the upper right corner and always begins with number 1, e.g., A-1, A-2; B-1, B-2, etc. Your name (Last, first) should also appear in the header. Exceptions include peer review letters, publication acceptances, etc., the External (gray) and Committee Reviews (blue) sections, but continue to paginate!
  • Do not use numbers to identify bullets since headings are the identifier, and do not include headings if you have no information to list. (Instead of “none” or “NA" simply do not include the heading.)
  • Information can only be listed once in the dossier. If more than one area is addressed, a decision will have to be made concerning which section it should be placed. (PSU Administrative Guidelines; pp. 8, 9).
  • Do not use staples, clips, rubber bands, etc. anywhere within the "Rainbow" sections.
  • Secure the completed dossier (Preliminary Pages and Rainbow sections) with a single binder clip in the top left corner.
  • CAREFULLY PROOFREAD for grammatical errors, misspellings, consistent format and pagination. These errors reflect negatively on the candidate, the department, and the college.
