MAJORS AND MINORS OFFERED IN GEOSCIENCES

Earth Systems Minor

The recognition that environmental problems are global in extent and impact many different components of the Earth System simultaneously requires that we adopt a large scale and interdisciplinary approach to questions of global change and the interactions of human and physical environments.  The Earth Systems Minor follows such an approach and offers undergraduates the opportunity to study the Earth as an integrated system.

The Earth Systems Minor is offered through the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS), and the program is directed by the faculty in the College's Earth System Science Center (ESSC) in the EMS Environment Institute.  Students enrolled in the minor will be encouraged to make use of the research opportunities presented by the Center, by working with individual faculty members on ESSC related projects.
