The Astrobiology Research Center (ARC) engages and supports astrobiologists across the Penn State University and works to expand the involvement of Penn State faculty and students in astrobiology research.  The ARC is devoted to broad, interdisciplinary research and to connecting people, ideas, and instrumentation in this rapidly developing field. ARC promotes collaborations among scientists at Penn State, promotes collaborations between Penn State and other institutions, and recruits early-career astrobiologists to Penn State. Our values dictate that we will work proactively to enhance justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in all astrobiology pursuits at Penn State.

ARC is closely allied with Penn State’s Astrobiology Dual-Title Graduate Degree Program, which provides an exceptional graduate training experience for the next generation of astrobiologists. With a dozen Project Leaders representing 5 academic Departments across 4 Colleges, we support active research in areas including the chemical origins of life, planetary evolution, and biosignatures.  Join us!
