As a graduate student in the Department of Geosciences you will work alongside multidisciplinary faculty researchers who are pioneering ideas that will benefit the Pennsylvania, the nation, and the world. A graduate degree in Geosciences from Penn State provides broad training and exposure to fundamental technical skills required for tackling some of society’s greatest challenges. Recruiting and supporting a diverse and inclusive graduate student community is one of the highest priorities of our department. Our students come from all over the United States and from across the world and have undergraduate degrees in geosciences and other STEM fields including astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, or mathematics.
